I Hate Losing, So You Better Effing Win Michigan

If you've followed this BBlog for a while you know I'm a huge sports fan. This Saturday marks the beginning of the football season for my Michigan Wolverines. The past two years have been awful for the team, so I'm hoping this year marks the beginning of the return to greatness for this storied school. When my teams are bad, I have to stop following them, because watching or listening to losses makes me sick to my stomach.

I know it's only a game, but that's just how I react. Some people may call it fair-weather fandom, but it's because I'm such an intense fan that I can't bear to see my teams lose. I'll check the scores, but even that turns my gut.

If you're not a sports fan, do you have anything that sours your stomach when it goes bad? Like when your favorite TV show jumps the shark, or your favorite graphic novel goes on too long? What gets you upset like losing does for me?

That's all for now. Stay geeky!

Apple Announces New Stuff, I Yawn

My new programming work starts on Monday, so I'm continuing to gather as much knowledge as I can about it. That, along with back-to-school activities has eaten up a lot of my time this week.

Apple made some new announcement yesterday, and since I have a Roku box and don't use iTunes, none of it meant too much to me. Google's better at social networking than Apple (and that's not saying much) so I don't expect a big Ping explosion. What is it these days? Bing? Ping? What's next Ding? Bling? Xing?

I made it through volume 2 of Walking Dead and moved on to 3 last night. I really love this story, and can't wait to see where it heads. I'll have to wait though, because my library has 5 holds on their 1 copy of volume 4. I may just have to spring for it on Amazon or my local comic shop.

That's all for now. Stay geeky!
